РRESENTER INFORMATION

«Classic Ballet School» of Saint Petersburg presents traditional Russian classic ballet art.

Our performances have been created following best versions of the greatest world-renowned choreographers.

All of the plays have been set up by ballet-masters – graduates of the Saint Petersburg Vaganova Ballet Academy and externalize the poetry of classical dance in its musical-choreographic performance.

Masterpieces of universal heritage performed by the students of Saint Petersburg «Classic Ballet School» are notable for their delicate choreographic pattern, artistic expression, filigree classic technique.

Our ballets are being permanently staged by various theatres of Saint Petersburg  (The Hermitage Theatre, Saint Petersburg State Academic Capella, Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory), all over Russia and worldwide (Germany, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Great Britain, Greece, Ukraine, Bulgaria and others).  

We are interested in expanding the area of our tours and look forward to new engagements.

BALLET SСHOOL HISTORY

The school was established in 2001 by a ballet-master Nikita Dolgushin (People's Artist of the USSR). Students of the school participated in ballet perfomances of Mariinsky Theatre and Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory. Together with the ballet troupe of Mariinsky Theatre they performed in London, touring «The Golden Age».

In 2007 the ballet school was directed by People's Artist of Russia Yuriy Petukhov (Artistic Director of Saint Petersburg State Academic Jacobson Ballet Theatre). «The Nutcracker» ballet in two acts was created under his supervision and staged in The Hermitage Theatre of Saint Petersburg.

In 2008 Sergey Gorbatov (a ballet dancer and choreographer) became the Artistic director of the school. Throughout that period he staged new versions of «The Nutcracker» and «Chopiniana» ballets, various miniatures.  

In 2009 - 2105 «Classic Ballet School» was directed by Arthur Boryaev (a ballet-master, artist and choreographer). The repertoire was greately enriched and included: «The Nutcracker» and «Thumbelina» ballets in two acts, «Chopiniana» and «Cipollino» ballets in one act. A new version of «The Sleeping Beauty» ballet in two acts was produced and performed by the troupe of the school on the stage of The Hermitage Theatre, Saint Petersburg.

Choreographic tuition of «Classic Ballet School» is based on the methodology of classical dance training created by Agrippina Vaganova. Our students are being provided ballet education in accordance with high standards of choreography techniques and performing level. They master classical dance, history dance, character dance, acting skills.

Ballet coaches and repetiteurs of the school are graduates of the Saint Petersburg Vaganova Ballet Academy, distinguished artists of world-renowned theatres (Mariinsky Theatre, Mikhailovsky Theatre, Saint Petersburg State Academic Boris Eifman Ballet Theatre, Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, Konstantin Tachkin Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre and others), prize-winners and laureates of international ballet competitions, rewarded by the Government of Saint Petersburg.

Bоrn in Leningrad (1966).
Graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy (class of I. Trofimova, 1984).     
From 1990 to 1992 – the soloist with The Russian Ballet Theatre, Saint Petersburg.
From 1992 to 1993 joined the ballet company of the Saint Petersburg State Academic Capella directed by Georgy Aleksidze.
From 1993 to 1998 – joined the Mariinsky Theatre.
From 1998 to 2008 – joined the Saint Petersburg Konstantin Tachkin Ballet Theatre.  

Repertoire includes: «Paquita» (Grand pas, Variation), «Chopiniana» (Eleventh Waltz), «Die Puppenfee» (Pas de trois),
«Giselle» (Wilis, Friends), «The Nutcracker» (Waltz of the Snowflakes, Waltz of the Roses), «Swan Lake» (Pas de trois, Hungarian dance, Cygnets),
 «La Vivandiere» (Pas de six).

As a performer has worked with the choreographers including: Oleg Vinogradov, Georgy Aleksidze, Dmitry Bryantsev.

Graduated from the Pedagogical Department of the Vaganova Ballet Academy (2010).

Since 2008 – a coach and repetiteur of the Classic Ballet School, Saint Petersburg. 



 

 

   

ЕLENA KUKSEVA


Coach and Repetiteur. Classical dance. Character dance.

Born in Gorky (1968).
Graduated from the Perm State choreographic college (class of L. Sakharova, 1986).

From 1986 to 1991 – the soloist with the Gorky State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after A. Pushkin.
From 1991 to 1998 - joined the Mariinsky Theatre.
From 1999 to 2005 – principal character dancer of the Saint Petersburg Konstantin Tachkin Ballet Theatre.

Performed solo roles in the ballets: «Rodin» (choreography by L. Yakobson, Soloist), «Wedding Cortege» (Bride),
«Nine Tangos and …Bach» (сhoreography by D. Bryantsev, Soloist), «The Ghostly Ball» (Soloist).

Has performed character repertoire and roles in the ballets: «Don Quixote» (Mercedes, Fandango, Gypsy Dance), « Gayaneh» (Sabre Dance), «The Nutcracker» (Spanish Dance), «Swan lake» (Spanish Dance), «The Arabian Nights» (Marjana).

As a performer has worked with the choreographers including: Oleg Vinogradov, Dmitry Bryantsev.

Graduated from the Pedagogical Department of the Vaganova Ballet Academy (2013).

Since 2011 – a coach and repetiteur of the Classic Ballet School, Saint Petersburg.
 

 

NАТАLIA CHERNETSKAYA

Coach and Repetiteur. Classical dance. Preparatory Department.
 
Born in Grozny (1973).
Graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy (class of M. Zagurskaya, 1992).

From 1992 to 1994 – joined the Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatory.
From 1994 to 1995 – Poland, joined the Szczecin State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
From 1995 to 1997 – Poland, the soloist with the Bydgoszcz Opera Nova ballet.
From 1997 to 1999 – Poland, joined the Warsaw Roma Musical Theatre ballet.
From 1999 to 2000 – Bulgaria, joined the ballet company of the Plovdiv State Opera.
From 2002 to 2003 – joined the Saint Petersburg State Academic Leonid Yakobson Ballet Theatre.
From 2005 to 2006 – joined the Mikhailovsky Theatre.

Performed solo roles in the ballets: «Cinderella» (Сruel sister, Poseur), «Tolerancia» (choreography by Arthur Jemelka, Soloist).

NINA LEVINA

Coach and Repetiteur. History dance.

Born in Novosibirsk (1945).
Graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy (class of F. Balabina, 1965).

From 1965 to 1969 – joined the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
From 1969 to 1986 – joined the Leningradian State Academic Kirov Theatre of Opera and Ballet (Mariinsky Theatre).
    
Repertoire includes: «Raymonda» (Grand Pas), «The Sleeping Beauty» (Frolicsome Fairy, Ladies in Waiting, Sapphires),
«Swan lake» (Pas de trois, Swans, Neapolitan Dance, Hungarian Dance, Mazurka), «La Bayadere» (Pas d’action, Shades, Priestess),
«Giselle» (Wilis, Friends), «Spartacus» (Gaditanian Maidens), «Le Corsaire» (Trio of Odalisques).

As a performer has worked with the choreographers including: Nikita Dolgushin, Konstantin Sergeyev, Oleg Vinogradov, Roland Petit, Pyotr Gusev.

From 1987 to 1993 – a coach and repetiteur of classical dance with the «Choreographic miniatures» ensemble of the Yusupov Palace Theatre.
Since 1993 – a coach and repetiteur of history dance with the «Cantilena» ballet school directed by Nikita Dolgushin.
Since 2009 – a coach and repetiteur of the Сlassic Ballet School, Saint Petersburg.
